Dignity And High Calling: Divine Gifts To Moms

The Revolt of America’s Moms

**Note: The Mother’s Day special referenced below is remarkably relevant today since there is much work to be done to gain control of public education. As you are aware, pubic education, from K-12, has become public indoctrination and sexualization of children. (Of course, universities are breeding grounds for Marxists as well.) PAGA is a Christian website, however, the various Moms’ organizations listed below are for all religions.

On Mother’s Day weekend, 2022, Steve Bannon’s War Room Pandemic aired its Mother’s Day special The Revolt of America’s Moms.

Highlighted were moms who have become prominent in pro-parental rights, pro-family, and pro-child groups. Who would have thought we would need any of these movements? Yet, here we are. As the Apostle Peter warned so many years ago, “Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). And the serpent has set his beady eyes on the children of Western nations.

During the show, each of the moms are asked about the path that led into their various leadership roles. Unanimously, the first step consisted of an overwhelming concern about their own children’s education and health. Following this came commitment to do something, which manifested into some action on the moms’ part, i.e. attend a school board meeting, meet with teachers/principals/school officials, remove their children from public education and begin a homeschool program, etc. At this point, the moms began meeting many other like-minded mothers and dads. One thing led to another, and a leadership opportunity presented itself. Now, these Moms are helping other parents throughout the nation. Make no mistake, America’s Moms are a force to be reckoned with.

Here’s a (paraphrased) portion from a Revolt of America’s Moms interview with Liz Yore, an international child advocate attorney, and the founder of Yore Children:

Steve: There’s something about moms standing up that has struck the establishment to their core. What is it?

Liz Yore: …Moms are a real and present threat to political elites because the left is trying to turn schools into Marxist struggle sessions. Now the left is terrified, because moms continue to fight against CRT, masks, [porn and other age-inappropriate books in] libraries. …Mothers will not allow themselves to be intimidated by name calling. The last standing institution that the left wants to destroy is the family. The left never anticipated the waking of Mama Bears.

Steve: Why is the left manically focused on family? They are trying to drive a wedge against mothers to drive them out of the schools and school boards.

Liz Yore: It’s the Marxist goal: the state will raise your children, the state will indoctrinate your children, the state will tell children what they can do. Look at China as a model.  But one person is standing in the way—Mother.

Prayer

Almighty Lord,

All glory and praise to You, our loving Father, from Whom is derived every good gift and every perfect gift (James 1:17). Thank You for the wisdom of the good and perfect gift of families, fathers, and mothers.  Because this world is fallen, families, fathers, and mothers are not perfect by any means. Yet, as the institution and progenitors of those made in Your image, ordained to “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth” (Genesis 9:1), and to teach children to worship You in love and obedience, we thank You for the establishment of the family as an outpost of godliness and blessing.

Lord, on this special day set aside for mothers, we thank You for our mothers. Thank You for the special attributes given to all mothers and demonstrated so beautifully in Scripture. For the dignity and integrity that is seen in Hannah, the mother of Samuel. For the high calling that is seen in Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus. And we thank You for those who fulfill the role of a mother, like Naomi to Ruth, though not her mom, she was to Ruth as a loving mother. In whatever we do, we do all to the glory of God, (1 Corinthians 10:31), so we celebrate and recognize Mothers as sacred blessings from You, to Your glory.

Your Word reveals the prominent role and responsibility given concurrently to mothers and fathers, within their own home and community, since earthly time began.

Scripture teaches that both mothers and fathers are to be honored by their children, and both are responsible in raising their children (Deuteronomy 5:16; 21:18-19). Proverbs is filled with practical precepts of right behavior toward fathers and mothers (Proverbs 10:1; 15:20; 19:26; 20:20; 23:22; 23:25; 28:24; 29:15). King Lemuel’s mother taught him wisdom, a loving mother concerned with her son’s godly success (Proverbs 31:1-9).  Thank You, Lord God, for the honor given to mothers throughout history.

With much gratitude we thank You for our mothers today! We thank You for the dignity and high calling You have given them.

Likewise, we are thankful for biblical examples of the boldness and fearlessness of mothers acting on behalf of their children. These serve as timeless instruction and guidance. “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope” (Romans 15:4).

We thank You for the example of Sarah. She teaches us that sometimes mothers must make hard calls where their child is concerned. When God’s promise was threatened, Sarah told Abraham to cast out Hagar and her son. Though this displeased Abraham, God confirmed Sarah’s hard call, and instructed Abraham to do as Sarah said. Thank You Lord God for the unprecedented mother, Sarah, who took a bold stand for her child, Isaac, and for Your promise to Israel (Genesis 21:9-12).

We thank You for Rebekah. She exemplifies a mother who did not conform to the world but sought a word from You concerning her children (Genesis 25:22-23). In accordance with Your will and contrary to the custom of the world, Rebekah ensured that Jacob, the younger brother, received his father Isaac’s blessing (Genesis 27:6-13). People sometimes question Rebekah and Jacob’s actions. However, Jacob was obedient to his mother, and Rebekah was obedient to the word You spoke to her. Father, bless You for providing Rebekah, a paragon of unwavering trust in Your Word, especially against the world and its condemnation. Lord, grant us a similar fortitude, also made clear in Peter and John’s statement to the Sanhedrin, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge” (Acts 4:19).

We thank You for the example of Jochebed, Moses’ mother, who risked her own life to save her child. Though Pharoah commanded that all sons born to the Hebrews be drowned (Exodus 1:22), Jochebed saw that Moses was a fine child. In order to protect him, she hid Moses, then strategically placed him in the water so that Pharoah’s daughter would find him (Exodus 2:1-6). The writer of Hebrews commends the faith of Moses’ parents, “By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict” (Hebrews 11:23). Praise You Sovereign Lord, for Jochebed’s courage and faith which provides encouragement and hope in protecting our children in the face of evil and murderous governments. Help us to remember her actions and the Psalmist’s words, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Psalm 118:6).

We thank You for the example of the mother of Sisera. She reminds us that enemies of God’s peoples have mothers too, who love their children and are perhaps grieved because of their children’s evil. As commander of the Canaanite armies, Sisera cruelly oppressed the people of God. In response to Israel’s cries for help, the Commander of Heaven’s armies went out to battle against the Canaanites whom He severely defeated. Though Sisera fled, he was killed by Jael, the wife of Moses’ in-law (Judges 4). As the prophetess Deborah sings the song of victory, one cannot help but feel the sorrow of Sisera’s mother:

Out of the window she peered, the mother of Sisera wailed through the lattice: ‘Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why tarry the hoofbeats of his chariots?’ Her wisest princesses answer, indeed, she answers herself, ‘Have they not found and divided the spoil?’ Judges 5:28-30

We thank You for the example of Eunice and Lois, the grandmother and mother of Timothy, who faithfully passed along their faith to him. The unforgettable passage written to Timothy from Paul, teaches us the unique, and most important, opportunity afforded a mother and/or grandmother to train a child in the Christian faith.

I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. 2 Timothy 1:5

Father, equip mothers everywhere with the boldness and confidence to give their children the most precious gift of a sincere faith.

Father, thank You for this day to celebrate and recognize mothers. Thank You for Scripture that shows the honor that You ordain for mothers, and the wonderful examples of mothers that You have made known to us.

We lift up all mothers and those serving in roles as mother. Grant these dear women wisdom, courage, zeal, single-mindedness, love, and grace to meet the demands of raising children in these evil days. Protect them. Guide them. Comfort them. Strengthen them. Grant them peace that surpasses all understanding. Rain a shower of blessings on them.

Praise be unto our Most Holy God, both now, and forever more.

In the Name of Our Lord Jesus, Amen
