Every Day, Strike A Blow For Jesus And Holiness

The inspiration for this prayer comes from Charles Spurgeon, Faith’s Checkbook Devotional, June 17 entry.

This timeless devotional encourages us every day—every single day—to strike a blow for Jesus and holiness. Strike a blow against the evil of the world. Strike a blow against the pervasive evil of globalists and the diabolic depravity of the Marxist left.

A few ideas to strike a blow for Jesus are listed following the prayer. Maybe these ideas are more habits to form, than a to-do list. Some may seem rather small compared to cosmic powers of  darkness and spiritual powers of evil (Ephesians 6:12). But God is greater than all forces in the world (1 John 4:4). Reading His Word, you find He delights in using small things to defeat the enemies of His people. God once saved the entire nation of Israel, because a pagan king had a case of insomnia (Esther 6:1 for the insomnia; Esther 2:19-9:19 for the entire account).

The prophet Zechariah wrote:

“Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the LORD that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?” Zechariah 4:10, NIV

The Bible cautions against despising small things done in service to God. You may consider the things you do for the Kingdom of God to be of little consequence. You may even think that the thing could be done more effectively by someone else. Nothing could be further from the truth! Assessing something or someone (including yourself) as having little worth to God and His work is a gross undervaluation. Take any such thoughts captive to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Remember the widow and her two mites, i.e. “all she had” according to the Lord Jesus (Luke 21:1-4).

As we look at ideas to strike a blow for Jesus and holiness, how small “the thing” is should not be assumed to have little value or lasting effect. When tasks are done to His glory and for His Kingdom, He will  meet your commitment with blessings of divine enablement and/or empowerment, and divinely enrich your loaves and fishes to feed a multitude. Trust Him.

Our Field Of Battle

“For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.” Deuteronomy 20:4

WE have no enemies but the enemies of God. Our fights are not against men, but against spiritual wickednesses. We war with the devil, and the blasphemy, and error, and despair which he brings into the field of battle. We fight with all the armies of sin – impurity, drunkenness, oppression, infidelity, and ungodliness. With these we contend earnestly, but not with sword or spear; the weapons of our warfare are not carnal.

Jehovah, our God, abhors everything which is evil, and, therefore, he goeth with us to fight for us in this crusade. He will save us, and he will give us grace to war a good warfare, and win the victory. We may depend upon it that if we are on God’s side, God is on our side. With such an august ally the conflict is never in the least degree doubtful. It is not that truth is mighty and must prevail, but that might lies with the Father who is Almighty, with Jesus who has all power in Heaven and in earth, and with the Holy Spirit who worketh his will among men.

Soldiers of Christ, gird on your armor. Strike home in the name of the God of holiness, and by faith grasp his salvation. Let not this day pass without striking a blow for Jesus and holiness.

Pray America Great Again I Have Overcome For Thee

Prayer

Most High God,

Blessed is Your Name in all the earth. May all the earth praise our faithful Creator and Redeemer, Who has loved us with an indescribable love.

Father, You sit “above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers” (Isaiah 40:22). Grant to us this heavenly perspective, imprint it in our minds and upon our hearts, for Your Word teaches that we live amid a conflict of sovereignties.

As Elisha prayed for his servant, so we cry out “O LORD, please open [our] eyes that [we] may see” (2 Kings 6:17). Being fully persuaded, by faith, which is the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1), and which is the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4), You shall open our eyes “and behold, the mountain will be full of horses and chariots of fire all around” (2 Kings 6:17).

In our current warfare against the world’s ever-increasing evil and wickedness, we thank You for the abounding help provided from the mysterious forces of heaven’s armies (2 Kings 6:17), a great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1), the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:13-17), Your Word which is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:13), and prayer (Ephesians 6:18). But most of all, You give us Your presence (Isaiah 8:10) . You are God with us (Matthew 1:23). You go before us (Exodus 23:23; Deuteronomy 1:30; 9:3).  You go in the midst of us (Deuteronomy 23:14). And You are our rear guard (Isaiah 52:12; 58:8).

Father, who is worthy of such a noble armament? Maybe a rich person? An emperor for life? A celebrity? A politician? A prince? A pope? A big tech CEO? An oligarch? A scientist? A university professor? Foundation founders? A World Economics Forum member? No, none of these, in and of themselves, are of any value, much less deserving of such a regal sentry. By grace, those worthy of such celestial guard are Your very own people. Your people who are in a right relationship with You, and live unto You. Lord, humbly we thank You.

Therefore, with confidence and courage, in Your grace, clothe us in the full armor of God that we “may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm” (Ephesians 6:13).

Taking up the sword of the Spirit, we stand on revelations of the blessed Triune Godhead:

  • The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save. Zephaniah 3:17, KJV
  • And Jesus came and said to [His disciples], “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Matthew 28:18
  • For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13 KJV

At the heart of Your higher ways and thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9), You regard the lowly, yet keep Your distance from the proud (Psalm 138:6). Our nation and Your people proclaim Your glory and say, “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve my life; You stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies [weaponized governments both domestic and foreign], and Your right hand delivers me” (Psalm 138:7).

In our smallness, we come confidently before Your great throne with great prayers. In the Name of Jesus, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:3) grant us this day confidence, courage, and faith.

In all earnestness, we ask You, Almighty God, to not let this day pass without Divine Providence striking a blow for Jesus and holiness.

Help us, Your people, to not let this day pass without striking a blow for Jesus and holiness.

And by/through/in Your Spirit help us, every day, to strike a blow for Jesus and holiness.

In the Precious Name of Jesus Christ and for His Sake, Amen.

Strike A Blow For Jesus Ideas

Many things can be done to strike a blow for Jesus and holiness. Make a deliberate practice of these things and others (please share your ideas on PAGA’s various social media sites and we will update them here).

If it be God’s will, our goal is to save our nation, our culture, our Judeo-Christian values, in a word, Make America Great Again.  To do this we need God’s help, just as Divine Providence helped the pilgrims, the Founding Fathers, and those in the Civil War.

But our goal would be short-sighted if it stopped there. Our most urgent goal is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When talking with others, look for an opening. Share what Christ has done for you. “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10).  And prophecy is God-breathed, “Thus saith the Lord…”. You don’t get any better than that!

Your every encounter with others may not always result in an opportunity to share what Christ has done for you. But there is always time to plant a seed. And God will see to it that that seed is watered and that it grows (1 Corinthians 3:6-7).

Strike List Ideas

  • A kind word, even to a leftie, with the added bonuses of a) it turns away wrath (Proverbs 15:1), and b) plants a seed.
  • Support non-progressive Christian causes.*
  • Support conservative, patriotic, and/or Christian businesses, for instance Public Square Marketplace (for buyers and sellers supporting USA businesses), Patriot Mobile, and many more.*
  • Support conservative, patriotic, and/or Christians groups, for instance Moms For Liberty.*
  • Combat lies and propaganda of Marxist democrats/MSM by sharing the truth from trusted media sites.*
  • Know how to answer, explain, defend. Read books such as Wokecraft, Black-Eye for America, Well-Versed, Get Trump, Race Marxism, The Great Reset (Alex Jones), and so many more.
  • Be bold in sharing about the Marxist Revolution taking place in our nation while talking to a neighbor, friend, relative, person in line at the grocery store, etc.. The majority of Americans do not keep up with politics.
Why is it important to share this tradegy? Because the current illegitimate regime (installed January 20, 2021) is persecuting Christians, and inciting violence among their mentally ill voters against Christians (for example, search Nashville Presbyterian). Not to mention the regime is violating the civil rights of citizens throughout the U.S., that is, those who don’t agree with them ideologically.
  • Be bold in sharing the Gospel when talking to a neighbor, friend, relative, person in line at the grocery store, etc.
  • As you talk with people, ask the Holy Spirit to help you listen, give you words to say, and to open the person(s)’ mind and heart to be responsive to what you have to share.
  • Most powerful of all – pray. Nothing we can do is as powerful as prayer. Pray straight-from-the-heart-prayer, earnestly lifted up for our nation, against the evil plans of the communist/Marxists trying to overthrow our Republic, and for God’s mercy upon, and salvation of, the Communists/Marxists. Face it. They need Jesus!

One more time:

Soldiers of Christ, gird on your armor. Strike home in the name of the God of holiness, and by faith grasp His salvation. Let not this day pass without striking a blow for Jesus and holiness.
