God Bless America!

Almighty God and Heavenly Father,

[Spoken Introduction:]
“While the storm clouds gather far across the sea
Let us swear allegiance to a land that’s free
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. “

[Song:]
God bless America
Land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above

From the mountains, to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America
My home, sweet home
God bless America

God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above

From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home

From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home
God bless America, my home sweet home

Lord Jesus, we praise Your Name! “Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to You Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before You endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2).

We lift up these words entreating You to bless our nation, our earthly home, sweet home, until we are with You, our future home, sweet home!

In the Name Of Jesus Christ, The Name Above All Names, Amen.

About The Song “God Bless America!”

And the LORD said to Abram, “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:2-3

Fulfillment’s of God’s promises are literally everywhere. Sometimes we miss some of the most profound evidences of divine omnipotence because, well look at that word – omnipotence. It seems so big, so huge, so magnanimous. And it is all of those things. But God works, has worked, and will work in many ways, small, medium, large, and every size beyond and above those sizes. We will see Him if we only look.

You will seek me and find me. When you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

God Bless America Is A Fulfillment Of Genesis 12:2-3

The beloved song “God Bless America” is one grain of the many fulfillment sands of Genesis 12:2-3.

“God Bless America” is an American patriotic song written by Irving Berlin during World War I in 1918. Berlin revised the song at the wake of World War II in 1938. He rewrote it as a prayer for peace. At it’s heart, it is a prayer for the well-being of our country:

Stand beside her and guide her through the night with the light from above.

May God Bless America!

How Is This A Fulfillment Of Genesis 12:2-3?

Irving Berlin was a Jewish immigrant from Russia, whose family immigrated to the U.S. in 1893. Berlin was only five at the time.

Irving Berlin became a famous American composer and lyricist. He is widely considered one of the greatest songwriters in American history. Interestingly, his father served as a cantor in a synagogue before traveling to the U.S.

Berlin, his music, and “God Bless America” are blessings to our nation.

More About “God Bless America”

The later version of the song was recorded by a famous American singer named Kate Smith. Smith performed the song for the first time on Armistice Day, 1938 (November 11, known today as Veterans’ Day). The song became the singer’s signature song. She performed it countless times on television, at sporting events, and in multiple other venues.

Irving Berlin also wrote the spoken introduction, which is rarely heard now, but was always included by Ms. Smith.

“God Bless America” truly belongs to all Americans.
