A Prayer For Chinese Corona Virus COVID-19: Grace For The Sick, Bereaved, Research, Healthcare Workers, Panic

Prayer

Blessed Lord, at times such as these we fall prostrate before Your throne, trusting in Your providential care of the world. With gratitude we lift our hearts to You, the Great Physician of our souls and bodies and the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3).

In times of great uncertainty, what a privilege to carry everything to You in prayer. Your Word assures our hearts and minds that we may cast our cares on You because You care for us (1 Peter 5:7). With confidence we may draw near before the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Almighty God, with humble hearts we express thanks for the mercies You have bestowed on Your people. We pray for the continuance of Your favor and protection to these United States. Especially dear Lord as Your people unify in prayer about the Chinese corona virus.

For those who are sick, we ask they be put under Your holy protection. Give them victory over this enemy. Place Your hand upon them and purify their bodies of the virus’ distress. Heal their respiratory systems and allow air to flow more freely than before. Cleanse those who may be carrying the virus unaware.

For those suffering the loss of a loved family member or friend, dispense the blessings of Your Presence and peace to them. Lord Jesus we pray for grace abundantly bestowed on the grief and sadness of each person. Strengthen and comfort each one as only You can. In so many situations, when we don’t know exactly what to pray, we plead the simple prayer “Help, Lord,” fully convinced that You know how to console the deep hurt of each heart.

For those engaged in research, in whatever capacity, guide their paths, direct their thoughts, grant wisdom, and give them miraculous breakthroughs in every area. May the recall of all their experience and education flow freely. Look on them with mercy and provide insight in this time of need.

For health care workers, please put a protective shield around each one. As they care for the sick, administer tests, manage waiting rooms and lines, and so many other things, Lord we pray that You defend them against the contagion. Jesus, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to you (Matthew 28:18). Please command this virus “thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stayed” (Job 38:11).

And Father, with respect to the panic, send indescribable calm in the midst of the storm. Encourage the hearts of all Americans. “Have mercy on us, O God, have mercy! We look to you for protection. We will hide beneath the shadow of your wings until the danger passes by” (Psalm 57:1).

With respect to those who are purposefully inciting panic and fear “May the LORD see and avenge!” (2 Chronicles 24:22). You know such inhumanity and cruelty cannot stand in a civil society. Father, You know the vile and destructive manner of such provocation during any crisis. How much more sinister in a health crisis! Oh God, shut their mouths and completely obstruct the dark money behind all of it. “Place cherubim and a flaming sword that turns every way to guard the way” (Genesis 3:24) to ears, hearts, and minds. Father God, don’t let the evil go unpunished! Defeat the enemies within America who seek to do our nation harm.

Raise us up in the days of battle to resist the propagandists and agitators. Let us mount up on eagles’ wings as we rest in the God-breathed Word that reassures: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

Jesus, we worship and praise You! You are greater than anything or any disease we face or suffer. In Your Name we can find healing. Your power is unlimited. Therefore, we know that when You heal us, we will be healed completely. In our weakness, Your power is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9).

For those who fear Your name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. We will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture” (Malachi 4:2). You have sent out Your word and healed us, and delivered us from this destruction (Psalm 107:20).

In mercy look down upon us, pardon all our sins, and receive us into Your favor; and finally, establish the independence of these United States upon the basis of religion and virtue, and support and protect us in the enjoyment of peace, liberty, health, safety, and unity.

In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
