Statement by the President Upon Signing Bill To Include the Words “Under God” in the Pledge to the Flag.

FROM THIS DAY FORWARD, the millions of our school children will daily proclaim in every city and town, every village and rural school house, the dedication of our nation and our people to the Almighty. To anyone who truly loves America, nothing could be more inspiring than to contemplate this rededication of our youth, on each school morning, to our country’s true meaning.
Especially is this meaningful as we regard today’s world. Over the globe, mankind has been cruelly torn by violence and brutality and, by the millions, by a materialistic philosophy of life. Man everywhere is appalled by the prospect of atomic war. In this somber setting, this law and its effects today have profound meaning. In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America’s heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country’s most powerful resource, in peace or in war.

President Dwight Eisenhower’s Prayer Of Blessing
President Eisenhower’s statement may not, at first glance, appear to be a prayer. But it is characteristic of Old Testament prayers of blessing such as the High Priestly blessing, “The LORD bless you and keep you…” (Numbers 6:22-27), or Jacob speaking a blessing to each of his sons prior to his death (Genesis 49:2-28). In essence these blessings are intercessory prayers entrusting the blessed ones to God.
What might have been a spoken prayer that “the millions of schoolchildren” begin each day blessed by God, has been lifted to a higher plane, because daily, in community, the words “One Nation Under God” would proceed out of the mouth of babes, so to speak. And not only schoolchildren, but likewise adults serving in civil offices, members of the military, even politicians, while pledging allegiance to the flag, would also speak these words of rededication, in community, “One Nation Under God.”
President Eisenhower’s words, “the dedication of our nation and our people to the Almighty. …reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America’s heritage and future” recalls the enormous blessings on our founding, and urges us to look forward, as a community, in hopeful expectation of future blessing.
What better prayer for a leader to speak over the people than to commit them to the watchful eye of God? Even as Jacob pronounced blessings over his sons, so President Eisenhower inscribed a blessing to invoke God’s help and prosperity for each American citizen.
Postscript: Wouldn’t you love to have a President who spoke like this today? And who stood up to the atheistic Democrat Party and their reprobate supporters? The telling words are “To anyone who truly loves America… …nothing more inspiring than the rededication of our youth…“. All who fly under the demonic banner “Democrat Party” hate America. And the same demons are trying to destroy our children. Look what they have done to college students! Look what they’ve done to millions of babies in the womb. And now they’re grooming, sexualizing, and confusing children in Kindergarten and beyond.
The Democrat Party has tried for years to remove these two words from the pledge of allegiance—Under God. The failures have failed because America is One Nation Under God. Under God, the God and Father of Jesus Christ. Never be caught in the “silent majority” but speak up for your Christian faith, “contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3); “guard the deposit entrusted to you” (1 Timothy 6:20); “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith” (1 John 5:4).
