Prayer

Lord,

We come to You right now, we ask for Your protection, we ask for wisdom, we ask for Your grace. We thank You for the protection that was offered to so many, but Lord we right now pray for a blessing on those who have lost so much.

Surround them with the love of the church. Now, Lord, I just pray that You equip the Body of Christ to go out and serve boldly.

And those that may have no hope and that they ask “Why has God forsaken me?”, Lord, let Samaritan’s Purse and the churches there in those communities to lift them up and say, “You are not forgotten, you are not forsaken. You are loved so much that God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die on a cross.”

And Lord we pray for rebuilding and the healing of this nation that can only come from the hand of Jesus.

Lord, we ask for forgiveness and we thank You for this opportunity to go out and serve during the disaster. We thank You for equipping us with the resources to be bold and to go out quickly.

In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.

The Good Samaritan – Van Gogh

And Who Is My Neighbor?

…but a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where the man was, and when he saw him, he had compassion.
He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.
And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’
Jesus asked, “Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?”
The lawyer said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”
