Bishop Strickland Prays That We Be One Nation Under God Once Again February 23, 2024

During an interview at CPAC 2024, War Room host Steve Bannon asked Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, “Can you say a short prayer for us and give our audience a blessing here for CPAC that all the work we do and all the fighting we do is under the tenets of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?”

Bishop Strickland responded, “Absolutely. That’s the best thing I can do is pray.”

Prayer

Almighty God,

We ask Your blessing for all of us and for this community gathered called CPAC, that we may realize in humility that we are all called in Your love.

You love us all in wondrous ways and You call us to live your truth. Help us to humbly come under your mantle of truth and goodness, beauty and love, and guide us away from the darkness that threatens this nation and our world.

May all people of faith be united in seeking to live the truth You have revealed to us. A beautiful truth that guides and strengthens us if we will only open our hearts to that truth which is incarnate in Jesus Christ.

And we ask this blessing in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

A Miscellany Of Info About Bishop Strickland (A Person Everyone Should Know)

From BishopStrickland.com About page:

On September 29, 2012 it was announced that His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI had chosen Strickland as the Fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Tyler [Texas]. He was ordained to the episcopacy on November 28, 2012 by His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston with Bishop Álvaro Corrada, SJ of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico and Archbishop Michael J. Sheehan of Santa Fe, New Mexico assisting as co-consecrators.  He served until Nov. 11, 2023.

Other Notes of Interest Related to the pope, Politics, and Protest

In a highly unprecedented move, Bishop Strickland was removed by pope Francis on November 11, 2023. The Vatican liaison, aka apostolic visitation, brought a list of “complaints” but refused to provide a copy to the Bishop. Basically, this godly man was canceled by the pope!?!

Read the Bishop’s comments after this unexpected discharge.

Like so many things these days, the beloved Bishop’s removal appears (to this evangelical, at least) to be purely political. Aside from tending his flock in Tyler, Texas, Strickland gained  prominence in 2017 when speaking out about the Catholic Church’s “McCarrick Scandal.”  In addition, he regularly participated in Pro-Life rallies and marches throughout the U.S. Of course, he was also outspoken about Francis’ ouster of well-known Pro-Lifer Father Pavone.

Strickland made national news again when he was the sole bishop to attend a rally at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on June 16, 2023. The rally was held in protest to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ decision to honor the “sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.” a group of drag queen nuns, with an award on the Church’s Feast of the Sacred Heart. [Sound similar to joe biden’s (evil doesn’t deserve respect) declaration of trans day of visibility on Easter Sunday?]

What Is Pope Woke’s Beef With The Bishop

Strickland is described as a theologically conservative Church leader, who has emerged as a critic of Francis for advancing what he views as efforts to undermine traditional teachings of the Catholic Church regarding gender, marriage and sexuality and a failure to articulately defend such teachings from those who seek to change them. The Bishop rightly accuses Francis of throwing the church into confusion.

In a recent episode of his show Bishop Strickland provides a critical analysis of Pope Francis’ many questionable actions, “suggesting that Pope Francis and Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernández are using a ‘sleight of hand’ approach to undermine traditional Catholic teachings on the family. Pope Francis’ rift between Church doctrine and his leadership of confusion is sparking international backlash from bishops across the world in a way that can no longer be ignored or denied. The Shadow Church’s most aggressive attacks on Tradition are on full display just days into 2024.”

For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. 1 Corinthians 14:33

A Summary Of What Compels Bishop Strickland

Here’s a quote from Bishop Strickland that nicely summarizes what he is about:

The Scriptures tell us that Jesus Christ is the face of truth. He doesn’t morph into a different being than He was when He died on the cross and rose for us. He is the same Lord; He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and those who want to change that, for a day, in terms of human history, we have to live through this day, but it’s a moment that will pass, and the truth will prevail.

Now, that preaches! Whether Catholic, Protestant, or Eastern Orthodox—the Gospel always preaches!
