Pray For Our Great Police Officers
Prayer
Heavenly Father and Almighty God,
We “sing the glory of Your Name and give to You glorious praise! How awesome are your deeds! So great is Your power that Your enemies come cringing to You. All the earth worships You and sing praises to Your Name” (Psalm 66:1-4).
How we thank You for our Great High Priest, Jesus Christ, His Supreme Reign over all of heaven and earth and His peace and justice of which there is no end. By His authority and by His righteousness which is ours by faith, “let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
We come before You with boldness, Father God, and lift up each and every police officer in America. We ask that You Yourself defend the police and abolish every attack directed at these officers of the law.
Father, we confess that we have taken these brave men and women for granted. And we humbly ask Your forgiveness for our failure to express our gratitude and appreciation for them. We ask Your forgiveness for our failure to cover them with our prayers. And God, we ask Your forgiveness for failing to intercede on their behalf by asking You to protect them from the sheer evil in our society.
To the men and women in blue, be their refuge and fortress as they trust in You (Psalm 91:2). May we keep them on our hearts and pray earnestly for their well-being. Then many people will give thanks because You have graciously answered so many prayers for their safety (2 Corinthians 1:11).
Father, while we can look back and see the sinister fountainhead of society’s disrespect for policemen and policewomen coupled with the onset of perverse attitudes and cultural aberrations directed toward our great officers, we recognize that the past cannot be changed. But we hold to Your promise of retributive justice and bring it to Your mind, not because You need reminding but because we do. We claim Your promise “for we know You said, ‘Vengeance is mine; I will repay’” (Hebrews 10:30).
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Paul recorded for all eternity the harm done to him by Alexander the coppersmith. And though in prison, he proclaimed with assurance “the Lord will repay him according to his deeds” (2 Timothy 4:14). Therefore, we keep in mind that You see the harm done to America’s brave and dedicated police officers and with Paul’s assurance we proclaim that You will repay the Marxist mobs according to their deeds. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31).
Lord God, we thank you for our police departments. We thank You and ask You to bless, encourage, affirm, and uphold the thin blue line between chaos and civilization. We thank You for each of the men and women who diligently maintain peace, law, and order in our cities, towns, and communities.
Speak to the heart of each police officer, as only You can, and let them know that they are greatly appreciated, supported, and needed. Let them feel the strength and protection of Your Presence Lord God.
Show us tangible ways to honor them. Show us tangible ways to express our appreciation and support for them in loud and massive ways. Show us ways to push back against the Marxist mobs.
Lord, we have asked You to give the mainstream media a spirit that makes them mute (Mark 9:17) and to let their lying lips be mute (Psalm 31:18). Oh Father, we still ask that. And we ask that You give them a conscience. And while we await the answer, please show us how we can physically overpower the lying voices of mainstream media and Democrat politicians in order that these police officers know that we stand with them! Give us boldness to speak up in support of the police.
Father, for every officer, and especially while he/she is on duty, we ask that You put a hedge of protection around him or her. Let them know that You are watching over them for protection and safe keeping. Let them “not be afraid, for those who are with them are more than those who are with the anti-police thugs and criminals. O Lord, please open their eyes that they may see that the mountains of the Lord are full of horses and chariots of fire all around” (2 Kings 6:16-17). And these Holy Ones stand ready to protect them, in a moment’s notice, against the evil forces of darkness.
For all the families who worry about their loved one as they simply go to do their job, please Jesus, give them grace, peace, and comfort as only You are able. Let them “not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let their requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and their minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).
For the families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty, please give them divine comfort and divine strength for healing. May they find peace in their loved one’s valiant service for his/her fellow citizens.
And Father God, we pray for the leaders at all levels who exert any type of authority over the officers. Times are such that Democrat leaders, mayors, city council members, and chiefs of police are more concerned with political maneuvering than protecting their police force. Lord, this shouldn’t be so! People are being appointed and hired to positions of leadership within police departments that have neither the skills nor the integrity to do the job.
Oh Lord, satan is running rampant in these blue cities and towns. Stay the evil! Raise Your mighty right hand and stay the evil! Give the voters eyes to see. Grant the appointers of the appointed leadership positions a sense of decency, a sense of concern for the citizens, a sense of doing what is in the best interest of the police officers.
How long, God? Surely You will not put up with the perverseness of Democrats and their leftist tools much longer!?!
Help us to come together as a nation, and as President Trump remarked on June 11, 2020 in Dallas, to recognize the need to invest “more energy and resources in police training and recruiting and community engagement.”
Father, You know that the majority of Americans know that the police are not the enemy. Oh God, that the leftist reprobates and their media, might honor all the good cops one-half as much as they harp on one bad cop. Democrat tyrants and Leftist media are indeed our enemies. Father, we are trusting that You will not let them go unpunished for their relentless lies and hatred. Father, we know that the major problem in our great country is Democrats and their leftist tools—not police officers.
Give all Americans empathy toward our officers as they deal with the vitriol that leftists and leftist media have unleashed upon them. Grant us understanding of the things they experience day in and day out. Specifically, Father, we pray for the following situations that were pointed out by a cop. And honestly, who of us ever thought about any of them? Give us wisdom to pray about these situations and the people involved.
- The mentally ill used to get treatment and now they just send cops.
- Kids used to be taught respect and now it’s cool to be disrespectful.
- Supervisors used to back you when you were right but now they accuse you of being wrong in order to appease crazy people.
- Parents used to get mad at their kids for getting arrested and now they get mad at us.
- The media used to highlight the positive contribution our profession gave to society and now they either ignore it or twist the truth for controversy to line their own pockets.
- But today, all of that is over. I wouldn’t wish this job on my worst enemy. I would never send anyone I cared about into the hell that this profession has become.
- It’s the only job you can do everything right and lose everything.
- It’s the only job where the same citizens you risk your life for hate you for it.
- It’s the only segment left in society where it’s cool to discriminate and judge, just because of the uniform you wear.
- You never get to explain.
- You can never reason with them.
- Cowards are all around us. From chiefs to sheriffs to politicians, no one has our back.
- And while I know, most Americans still appreciate us, it’s not enough and the risk is too high. Those of you that say thank you or buy the occasional meal, it means everything.
God, those words should burden the heart of every American. Certainly, they fill our hearts with a great heaviness. We mourn with these men and women. God, please, we ask again, show us tangible things that we can do. Show us how to overpower the satanic voices of the left.
Father God, into every heart and community that has been indoctrinated with darkness and suspicion toward our great officers, we speak the mighty peace of Jesus Christ. Evil will necessarily contend for the areas where we speak Christ’s peace. And You Who is in us is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Christ has defeated the darkness of evil. We pray this spiritual reality will transcend the heavens—on earth as it is in heaven.
We take great comfort knowing that the conflicts experienced in the physical realm are also being fought in the spiritual realm. Before You created the world, the unformed, lifeless mass of watery chaos was under the care of the divine Spirit, hovering over it (Genesis 1:2), ensuring its future development.
In the same way, we trust that the Spirit of Christ is in the world now, all things subjected to Him, a “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. The increase of government of His Kingdom and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!” (Isaiah 9:6-7).
John tells us that right now “four angels are standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree” (Revelation 7:1). Until the time comes that You set long ago, these four angels protect the earth and maintain the lines between creation and destruction, order and chaos.
While earth remains, physical realities mirror the spiritual. And earthy the heavenly. Therefore, with hearts full of gratitude we thank You Almighty God for our great police officers, the thin blue line between chaos and civilization. We will never know the extent of death and destruction they have prevented from happening. But You know.
Surround them with Your huge divine line of angels, chariots of fire, and Holy Spirit providential care and protection. Be their strength and shield (Psalm 28:7) from this time forth and forevermore.
In The Name Of The Only One Who Reigns Supreme, Jesus Christ, Amen.
God protects the earth with a thin blue line of atmosphere.
